Graveyard Keeper 2 NPC Schedule and Weekly Days

Graveyard Keeper 2 runs a six-day week shown as symbols. NPCs stay at their regular locations, but battles, town orders and sermons unlock on one day each.

Graveyard Keeper 2 NPC Schedule and Weekly Days

Does Graveyard Keeper 2 still work on a weekly NPC schedule?

Partly. NPCs no longer visit the village once a week; the developers state that They will usually remain at their regular locations. What survives is the day gate: certain mechanics connected to these characters will only be available on their designated days, so you plan around mechanics rather than around arrival times.

The change was an explicit fix to a Graveyard Keeper 1 complaint, and the developers explain the reasoning themselves: once the Town became a real, walkable part of the game, there is nowhere mysterious for them to arrive from. You will not lose a quest because an NPC wandered off. You will lose a week because a mechanic was only switched on for one day and you spent it doing something else. That is the distinction this page exists to make.

What are the six days called?

The game never writes a day name. It shows a symbol — a glyph carved from a portal fragment — and the six are Gluttony, Sloth, Lust, Envy, Pride and Wrath. The seventh fragment, Greed, has no associated day, and the centre icon for each day appears as the story hands you the matching fragment.

Because there are no names in the interface, players describe days by the shape they see rather than by a label, which is why the same mechanic gets described differently across guides. Six symbols, six days, one week. If you are counting on a Sunday or a Monday, stop — the wheel is the only calendar the game gives you.

Symbol Day Exclusive mechanic Where it happens Cost of missing it
Gluttony PR Machine day The PR Machine raises your zombie cap PR Machine Wait a full week
Sloth Battle day Town battles at the guard post, sewer fights at the raider camp Guard post / raider camp Wait a full week
Lust Port day The merchant ship docks, Linda collects Green Scrolls, Davy the Dagger posts raider orders Main Pier and Dockside Club Wait a full week
Envy Storm day A thunderstorm powers the resurrection table Resurrection Lab Wait for the next Envy, or use the God of the storms buff
Pride Market day Town orders open and every trader’s weekly Likes cap resets Order board and each trader Wait a full week
Wrath Sermon day Mass and sermons in the church Church Wait a full week

What is available on each day?

Each day carries exactly one headline mechanic. Gluttony runs the PR Machine that raises your zombie cap, Sloth is the only battle day, Lust brings the port merchant ship and Linda’s Green Scroll collection, Envy powers the resurrection table, Pride opens town orders, and Wrath is sermon day.

The consequences differ by day, so they are worth spelling out. Lust is the widest day: the merchant ship, Linda’s three attract-people options of 1, 5 or 10 new residents, and the raider orders all land together, which means a missed Lust day sets back town quality as well as shopping. Pride resets every trader’s weekly Likes ceiling, so it is the best day to spend a headroom you have been saving and the worst day to be busy — see town shops and orders for how that cap works. Wrath is your only source of Faith, which several other systems quietly depend on, from sermons to milestone activation — and the Gratitude you banked all week is consumed by that one ceremony.

Gluttony is the easiest day to skip by accident, because the PR Machine only looks relevant once your zombie operation is large enough to hit the cap. Sloth is the hardest to recover from, since a lost fight means a six-day wait before the retry, and the Herbert quest line is where that first battle is waiting for you.

How does the six-day wheel unlock?

The wheel fills in as the story progresses, and each centre icon arrives with a specific quest. Gluttony comes with Congregation Trouble, Sloth with First… Sludge?, Lust after Safe Harbor, Envy with the resurrection tutorial, Pride with Workshop Hours, and Wrath with Holy Moly!.

Symbol Quest that unlocks the icon
Gluttony Congregation Trouble
Sloth First… Sludge?
Lust Safe Harbor and its follow-up
Envy The resurrection tutorial
Pride Workshop Hours
Wrath Holy Moly!

The practical effect is that the early game hides its own calendar from you. Until the relevant quest lands, the day exists but has no visible purpose, so it is normal to spend your first few in-game weeks without noticing that a mechanic has been waiting on a symbol rather than on your progress.

What happens if you miss the right day?

You wait six days. The game does not skip or refund the window — the resurrection table reports no power until the next Envy, the battle panel states fights are available on Sloth, and the church says the ceremony is available on Wrath, all of which are six-day waits in practice.

There is one real escape hatch. Envy’s power returns at the last moment of Lust, and a successful Prayer for Storms grants the God of the storms buff, which lets you use the resurrection table on any day you like. That buff is the difference between a zombie pipeline that runs continuously and one that stalls every time you need a new worker — the failure modes are collected in zombie resurrection errors.

Weekly resets are the other half of the schedule. Gratitude is consumed by each sermon and does not carry over, so points banked above your cap are simply lost, while Pride day refills the trader caps you spend them against.

Is Gerry in Graveyard Keeper 2?

No, and the developers named him specifically to head off the question: your talking skull companion is not Gerry. Graveyard Keeper 2’s talking skull is Larry, who appears in the character list and in late-game dialogue. Do not expect the Graveyard Keeper 1 skull to walk back into the story.

The full statement spends a joke on the point — It's simply another charming talking skull with a dark sense of humor. Just imagine having two talking skulls in the same game. How would anyone know which one was which? — but the operational takeaway is plain. If a guide tells you Gerry is your companion in Graveyard Keeper 2, that guide is wrong, and it is probably recycling the first game’s roster wholesale.

Do Snake and Ms. Charm return?

There is no reliable source either way. No announcement, wiki entry or walkthrough confirms Snake, Ms. Charm or Gerry appearing in Graveyard Keeper 2, and Gerry has an explicit denial. Graveyard Keeper 2 does have a character named Bishop, the monk leader at the Royal Foundry, but nothing states he is the Graveyard Keeper 1 bishop.

The developers do say that several iconic characters return and that you will meet some old friends and learn what happened to others, without naming them beyond the Gerry denial. Treat the returning cast as an open question and do not repeat a list you cannot source. One naming conflict is worth knowing: Fextralife calls the Nun Agatha while the game data lists her simply as Nun, so those two labels are the same person rather than two NPCs.

Locations are also more stable than schedules. Herbert stands at the Crossroads until Swords and Bell and then moves to the Barracks; Linda works out of the Dockside Club; Januarius runs the village tavern; Herm is the village merchant; the Nun is at the Crossroads; Jack runs the workshop; Gunter is at the astrologer tower in the Port; Albert is the Plague Doctor; the Trademaster works the port; and Davy the Dagger leads the raiders at their camp. Once you know the building, the NPC is effectively always there.

One loose end should be labelled as such. A machine-translated guide claims the donkey delivers corpses at 13:12 on Gluttony, Lust and Pride, and that trader weekly caps reset at 00:14 on Pride day. No second source confirms either time, so treat both as unverified single-source claims rather than scheduling rules.
