What is the Sauna in Graveyard Keeper 2?

The Sauna is a pre-order bonus building that appears next to the Keeper’s house once the platform recognises your bonus content. It is not a technology, not a construction recipe and not tied to any quest. Using it grants the Steamed Up buff, which raises the energy you get from food by 10 percent.

The pre-order package contains two things: the exclusive Sauna and a platform-specific outfit. Which outfit you receive depends on where you bought the game. Everything in the package is cosmetic or convenience; none of it is required to finish the game, and none of it changes the tech tree.

Where is the Sauna and how do you use it?

It sits beside the Keeper’s home, across the bridge to the left of the house. Walk up and use it to receive Steamed Up. There is no fuel, no material and no cooldown documented for the building, and it does not occupy a build plot or a workbench slot.

Because it is not part of the technology tree, you cannot unlock it by grinding points, and because it is not in the construction menu, you cannot build a second one. If you are looking for it in the Church or Yard build lists, you are looking in the wrong place entirely — the Sauna belongs to the save’s bonus content, not to the crafting data.

What does the Steamed Up buff do?

Steamed Up increases the energy restored by food by 10 percent. The bonus is calculated on each dish’s base energy value, and it applies to the food you eat while the buff is active. It does not raise your energy ceiling: maximum energy is always 100 minus your insanity, so the buff fills the bar faster but never extends it.

For practical purposes the buff turns mid-tier food into top-tier food. The table below uses the base energy values from the consumable data.

Because the buff scales with the dish, it is worth pairing with the strongest food you can make rather than with berries. If you are still on Berry Pie in your first week, the buff adds only a few points per pie; once you can cook Elder’s meal, the same buff is worth 12 energy. Why the Sauna is not an in-game unlock

A full search of the game data returns no Sauna building. The dataset lists 85 crafting stations and 207 building blueprints, and no record in either is named Sauna or Bath. That independently confirms the store pages: the building exists only as pre-order content attached to a save, not as a build option.

You can see the same gap in the community. Steam discussions in the launch window asked directly whether the Sauna bonus was real, which is what you would expect if the item were missing from the normal unlock flow. The crafting stations list and the tech tree overview both reflect that absence: there is no node to buy and no station to place.

One thing is genuinely open. Whether the Sauna will be sold separately later is not confirmed by any authoritative source at launch, so treat “you can buy it in a future update” as speculation rather than a plan. If it does ship later, it will be a store listing, not a patch to the technology tree.

What else comes with the pre-order bonus?

The bonus has two parts: the Sauna and a platform outfit. The outfit has no mechanical effect and is worn through the Dresser with mirror, a furnishing you build in the Keeper’s house. That furnishing needs the Suit Up! technology, which costs 15 red points, and its build cost is 4 Wooden Plank, 2 Bronze Detail and 2 Glass.

Note that the Dresser is a normal build, so it is the one item in that table you can lose access to by simply never unlocking Suit Up!. It has no energy or combat effect; it exists so the cosmetic reward has somewhere to live.

What if the Sauna is missing from your game?

Check that your platform actually registered the pre-order entitlement. A save that has the bonus content shows a Bonus Content Unlocked notification, so its absence tells you the entitlement never reached the save. Verify the edition you bought and the account the purchase was made on, then let the platform re-sync the entitlement before starting a new game.

There is no in-game workaround, because the building is not in the shipped construction data — no mod-free path, no hidden technology and no quest can spawn it. If the entitlement is present but the building is still absent, that is a support matter with the store or platform rather than something you can solve in the tech tree.
